Charlotte Ushela

Peruvian-American soprano, Charlotte Ushela, graduated with a Bahelor of Music from the Frost School of Music in 2013 and a Master of Music degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music (CIM) in 2015, studying with Dr. Mary Schiller. During her time at CIM, she performed the roles of Second Woman in Dido and Aeneas, Annio in La Clemenza di Tito and Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro under the direction of David Bamberger. During the summer of 2015, she performed the role of Pamina in Die Zauberflöte at the Music Academy International in Trentino, Italy, under the baton of J. David Jackson. In 2016, Ms. Ushela made her debut at the Municipal Theater of Lima again as Pamina in a production of Opera en Castellano and collaborated with the National Choir in their performances of Rossini's Stabat Mater, Carmen and Turandot. In 2017, she was a finalist at Radio Filarmonia’s National Voice Competition. In 2022, she was selected to participate of the Italian Institute of Culture's Opera Studio as Suor Genovieffa in their production of Suor Angelica. Ms. Ushela has been a faculty member at the San Ignacio de Loyola University, and the Pontificate Catholic University of Peru in Lima. Currently, she is a voice instructor for the Frost Prep Program and Administrator of the Suzuki for Tots Program.
