Megan Walsh

Program Director, Frost Preparatory Program

Dr. Megan Walsh maintains an active career as a concert pianist, teacher, adjudicator and workshop presenter. She has performed throughout the United States, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy and Serbia. Dr. Walsh has presented workshops for the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) state and national conferences, for the College Music Society (CMS), and for the European Piano Teachers Association (EPTA). Dr. Walsh served on the piano jury for the Slobomir International Music Competition in Slobomir, Bosnia-Herzegovina and was the first American juror selected for the program. Dr. Walsh received her Doctorate in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Miami where she studied with Dr. Rosalina Sackstein. While attending the University of Miami she was awarded a full scholarship and teaching assistantship and was initiated into Pi Kappa Lambda, the National Music Honor Society. Ms. Walsh attended the University of Notre Dame where she received a B.A. in Piano Performance and a M.A. in Piano Performance and Literature. Upon completion of her Master’s degree, Ms. Walsh spent a semester in Bratislava, Slovakia studying piano pedagogy at the Vysoka Skola Muzickych Umeni (VSMU). Dr. Walsh has served on the board of the Florida State Music Teachers Association, Miami Music Teachers Association and the Coral Gables Junior Music Club. Currently, she is the president of the South Florida Emerald Society and is actively involved with participating and promoting Irish cultural events locally and internationally. Ms. Walsh has been the Director of the Frost Preparatory Program since 2003.
