Qinquan Zhang

Piano

Qinquan Zhang is an accomplished
musician, holding a Bachelor of Music in
Piano Performance with a minor in music
theory from the Cleveland Institute of Music.
Further advancing his musical expertise, he
earned a Master's Degree in Piano
Performance from the Manhattan School of
Music and an additional Master's degree in
Music Education from Teachers College,
Columbia University, both in the vibrant city
of New York. Currently, Zhang is immersed in
advanced doctorate study under the
guidance of the esteemed Professor Kevin
Kenner at the University of Miami, double
majoring in Piano Performance and Piano
Pedagogy.
Zhang's musical journey began at a young
age, with intensive professional training in
piano performance and music theory starting
in primary school in China. His remarkable
talent has been recognized with top honors
in prestigious piano competitions, including
the Xinghai Cup Piano Competition,
ZhongSin International Piano Competition, Lira International Piano Competition, Nice
International Piano Competition, and International Young Pianist Competition. His
performances have graced renowned venues worldwide, including Carnegie Hall Weill
Recital Hall, Greenfield Hall, Mixon Hall, Kulas Hall, Gläserner Saal at Musikverein, and the
Elgar Room at Royal Albert Hall. Actively participating in international music festivals, Zhang
has been featured at the Amalfi Music Festival in Italy, MusicAlp International Music
Academy in France, Summit Music Festival in the United States, Shanghai International
Piano Academy, and Beijing International Music Festival Academy in China.
In addition to his impressive performance career, his roles as the assistant to Ms. Kathryn
Brown, Head of the Keyboard Department at the Cleveland Institute of Music, and as an
assistant to Mr. Jeffrey Cohen at the Manhattan School of Music during both undergraduate
and graduate studies underscore his commitment to excellence. Adding to his pedagogical
repertoire, Zhang was an Applied Piano Lesson instructor at Teachers College, Columbia
University. Zhang currently serves as a teaching assistant in the Music Preparatory Program
at the University of Miami, further enriching the musical community with his expertise. Zhang
has also actively participated in the Suzuki Method and Yamaha Educational System
conferences to expand his teaching approaches. In addition to Zhang's teaching
experiences, his articles have been published in the leading Chinese piano magazine Piano
Artistry.
